My Thoughts on Warhammer

What a GAME!!!!

I know i have had my moments when I would get depressed on this game but I have to say this is the best game out there at the moment!!!

To me leaving WH is not a option until something comes along that can give me the same joy and and accomplishment I get from playing WH.

Right now WH is more then the game but the fun I have playing with my friends. Trying out tactics, helping others to level, hearing others laugh because of a battle we had with the other side. I dont look at my play as Order dominating destro but my team (Destro or Order) beating our opponents.

WH is 2 fields of characters and currently I am enjoying some on Volkmar and experiencing differnt characters with differnt skills. I am enjoying the company of Gaiscioch members with me to have fun beating up the opponents. I am not looking at lvl 80 or building a big guild but just having fun. We have dominated lvl 1 and are now looking at lvl 2 in the guild "The Black Fleet".

To me 70-80% of the game is social contact and that is with my guild members. I hate to see people say they are leaving. This game can be fun even to chill out on a different server. I am giving Mythic a chance to address the serious problems they have but if they dont fix it I can still enjoy their game on another server until something comes along that we can all move to and enjoy the same as we have in the past.

The depressing thing is many of us have worked hard to get our characters where they are. BUT, I think we can also miss the joy of discovering something new that is available in the game if we are short sighted and stuck in our Order characters.

Just some thoughts from and Oldroar point of view.

Well put Oldroar. Your right its not just about WH Badlands, its about having fun with a group of people who's company you enjoy playing with no matter what the game or server. I have only got to know you guys over the last couple of months and its because of the community spirit that Ben and you guys have created that has kept me coming back. Old, I feel the same way. I have only been a part of the family for a short time, and so far everyone has been amazing. I reinstalled WAR only as a filler until Rift came out, and was glad to see the Rift link on the site when I was checking the guild out. I really hope to be a part of this community for years to come, its not as much about the game, as it is about the people. I have been frustrated lately with the server issues, and have thought about hanging it up, but it seems the server has been a little more stable the last few days ? I look forward to more WAR battles with the family, and really look forward to moving to Rift with whoever is going.

sighs... well, I have to be one of those people missing out I guess. I really liked WAR in the beginning. I even liked the pvp part while leveling through tiers 1-3. However, tier 4 is a huge disappointment to me. I hate the city seiges. There is nothing to Tier 4 but pvp and renown grinding so you can do more pvp. I normally despise pvp in games. Always have. I did like how DAoC did it and when I found out that WAR's was similar I was excited. I really did enjoy it in the lower tiers. But to have my entire gameplay turn into nothing but pvp makes tier 4 a big poop for me. Yes, you can work on unlocks, titles, etc at tier 4, but unless you chase that renown like a fiend, you are going to majorly suck the big hairy ones when you go out with your guild and friends to the pvp field. I don't enjoy sucking, but I know without doing the renown grind, I'm never going to be much better than I am when i first hit 40. I talked to our fearless leaders and they assured me that this does not mean I am out of the family. I will still be able to be on the boards and see where my guild family is headed and what games they are also playing. And I will still be able to come make you blush on vent as I always have. ::smirks:: (Wait till Ltol gets back... muhaha!) I love hanging out with you guys and PLEASE know that this decision has NOTHING to do with anyone. In fact, the truth is that had it not been for you guys I would have left WAR a couple months ago. It was my friends and family here that I stayed for. But at some point you have to decide if the money you are spending is worth it. For me right now, it's not. For now I am playing Runes of Magic on Atemis server. We have a guild there. You can find me on Hrothgaar, Alleyrat or Sophiarose most of the time. (Hrothgaar is in the guild, Alleyrat is not and Sophia is new so not in a guild at all. I will also be playing Rift (thanks to Ben giving me a beta key) and am excited to see what Guild Wars has to offer us. If anyone wants my email just let me know. I will still be in the game for a couple weeks if I read my resub date correctly, so you'll still see me in there now and then. :) Thanks all and I hope this changes nothing in my friendships with you. It's not really goodbye, since you can't get rid of me that easily. It's just I'll see you in other realms. Cindermist

Well put oldroar. You might not remember this but during a tier 3 trinity event you took control of a warband I was leading and invited me to anu. And even though you never really said anything more than that to me since I'm glad you did. ;) I remember ignoring the first register at the website spam. I read the friendly banter and decided might as well check out the site. Well since then I've done my best to be active and open. I've actually started to talk in vent a little, something I didn't realize people did outside of counter strike. Well what you said makes alot of sense, and in some ways felt like you were talking to me. I would rather suffer the server issues with some decent people, than not at all.

Well Put, I just wish tuatha moved to Gorfang. I have some toons on volkmar ill see whats going on there.

I have to say I'm relieved to see that most everyone is going to stick this out to see what happens with the server. I don't know many of you very well, but I enjoy the time I spend online with all of you, and look forward to getting to know people better. I can honestly say my Warhammer addiction went into full drive when I found Gaiscioch, and this is where I want to stay. Thank you all.

ooooh so thats why I didnt see old running around anymore, you went....to the other side! *faints i kinda agree, but I could never play destro cause you know, theyre enemies trying another server is enough of a change for me =) I hope they will fix their stuff and things balance out again somewhat than again its never bad to take a break for a while when it stops being fun, and I understand people want to do that, wh cant be beat by any other game when it comes to rvr/pvp, I think most people will come back (I did)

Switching to destro for a while and just.. my god I LOVE the magus and I don't know why! Eng needs some kind of cool thing.. turrets just don't compare :( If I could be perma-mounted on a tank like turret to cruise around in.. maybe then I would like my engie. But I loved destro lands when I was in Beta .. the change of scenery and everything - is like playing a new game that I already know how to play.

Hmm Guess ill have to come over to Volk and say Hi :)
