Happy Birthday Warhammer Online!

This week (Sept 18th?) Warhammer Online will be two years old. It'd been a crazy 24 months. Trials. tribulations. Highs. Lows. Bugs. Great New stuff. Mechanics. Balancing. Stream lining. Carrots. Sticks. Land of Sand. Server Consolidations. New classes. New events. New rumors. And finally Zomg Skaven! are coming in some form or another.

Most importantly for me, it's the game where I can get my ORVR on with friends. As we celebrate the second anniversary of this strange online world we call home I hope you'll join me in remembering the good times, over looking the mis-steps, and looking forward to many fun-filled evenings to come.

It'll be super interesting to see what happens in this upcoming year.

(Raises a glass) Hey warhammer, thanks! Thanks for helping me forget the stress of work, for helping me deal with a pregnant girlfriend with psychotic mood swings, for letting me fight without costing me a fortune in dental bills or court costs, for giving me something to do that doesn't involve a car payment spent at a bar, but most of all, thanks for keeping me young, my imagination healthy, and the opportunity to meet people like the Tuatha!! SLAINTE!!!!

I think for me the best change to the game has been in regards to zone locking. When I think back on all the early frustrations with not being able to lock a zone when the enemy didn't show up the domination locking mechanic may be the single best improvement to the campaign. Likewise, freeing VP locks from the prior zone and PVE were big steps forward. And Pies of course!

Against all odds is my fave improvement in the last year by far. It's good for both sides, zerg and non zerg alike.
